What Packet Loss Looks Like in a Speed Test
A speed test with packet loss often shows unstable latency, uneven throughput, or a test that fails partway through. You may see normal speeds on one run and poor results on the next. In day-to-day use, the same connection may feel slower than the headline download and upload values suggest.
Packet loss is not the same as low bandwidth. A connection can be fast on paper and still perform badly if packets are being dropped along the path between your device, router, modem, and ISP network.
How to Confirm Packet Loss
